The Wildhorse River is a historic gold rush River/Creek in the East Kootenays of British Columbia. It was the site of gold rushes starting in the early 1860’s. The source of it’s placer gold has still not been located. The total gold mined from the river is unknown as it presumed large amounts were never accounted for. In today’s prices gold mined from the creek is estimated to be in the billions.
Exploration is once again ramping up in the area with many companies either chasing the source of the deposit or hunting other rich mineral deposits.
